Partner of motorsport and a permanent fixture in tuning sport

Metrakit was founded in the 1970s by Josep Gurri, Paco Tombas and Jordi Salanova in Barcelona, Spain. Even in the early years, the fledgling company focussed on the production of tuning kits for both motorbikes and mopeds of all kinds. Right from the start, the brand's portfolio included products for a wide variety of two-wheeler makes. More and more mechanics and tuning enthusiasts discovered the brand's products in order to maximise the performance of their mopeds. After just a few years on the market, the Spaniards became involved in various two-wheeler racing series, sometimes with their own vehicles, and are still successful today. Around the year 2000, the Spanish company also began to develop its own competition motorbikes for junior racing series. With these, Metrakit continues to contribute to optimally supporting young racing talent and slowly, yet professionally, introducing them to higher classes and performances. The classic moped cylinders in the sizes 38 mm, 43.5 mm or 47 mm are no longer manufactured directly by Metrakit, but various replicas of the cylinders are now available on the market again.
